I arrived at this place at quarter to seven;
the long drive in was anything but heaven.
You see, I begin an ambitious project today,
One that I put off--things just got in the way!
Or likely it was me who put the distractions there
To stall for time, sort my thinking, to clear the air.
It seems the size and scope filled me with fear,
And a sense of doom grew as the time drew near
These vibrant colors will allow a new view on all
The past forgotten, freshness needed on this wall.
"Cover it! Make it go away!" This has been my plan,
"Do it quickly!" And then move on as quick as I can.
Avoiding this has not made the situation any good;
It was "Out of sight, out of mind!" as long as I could.
But delays only made an increase of a type of mold,
As the problems grew larger, as well as it grew old.
Like yeast that causes growth that is hardly seen,
It spews out bitterness, anger, its just plain mean.
I take a deep breath, start with a hug and prayer,
And truly own my own fault, and listen with care.
For the record, it is my pride that I must choose
to abandon--and my own selfish desires to lose,
Surely by leaving this world's wisdom far behind
I can now see that a hopeful future can be mine.
No longer cowardly, hiding or covering it up too.
God's Word and His Spirit leads us to make it new.
Engaging those people that I love brings the wins
Reconciling. Finding love covers a multitude of sins
By now boldly taking tools, the roller, the brush;
Tediously, courageously doing what I must.

There's A Hope Within Me
What is there to live for?
There's so much in life to live for.
Life is filled with joy each day.
There are people and places more
Richer, greater than I can say.
I'm in love with my wife, twenty two years,
I cherish my four sons, gifts each one
I have friends and family, far and near.
Chica, my dog; and where we call home.
Many are passions which occupy me.
I enjoy carpentry as my work each day.
Or up a winding path of rocks and trees.
Exploring, walking, biking along the way
But I ask you questions deep and great:
What happens when things go wrong?
When all I value is stripped from me away?
My health falters? or my life ebbs till gone?
What remains?
In Christ I have eternal life received,
Gifted mercy, forgiveness for my sin;
from the bondage of guilt I'm freed!
A fountain of life springing from within.
In the end, to Glorify Him.
There's so much in life to live for.
Life is filled with joy each day.
There are people and places more

Persistent. Patient Savior

(Knock) "I want escape, freedom, out."

I have hope
I Repent
I Believe
I have forgiveness.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:15-22
“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see. Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

So All LIving Thrive!
Seasoning with gracious speech,
loving others in words and deed;
Always with the Hope ready to share,
living out acts of kindness and care.
Lighting in the darkness to shine,
leading the lost in truth to find.
Telling of Jesus our Savior and King,
helping others who are dying in sin.
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses it's flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing, but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men." Matthew 5:13

Haikus
Here's some Haikus that I am working on:
Anyone have any pictures to post beside these poems?
1
Breath comes in richly
fills lungs, my soul with life, till
death comes in boldly
2
Snow resting gently
white quiet on white, and wind
Wild blizzard brewing
3
Water dripping down
wrapping around the faucet
cold, building ice forms
4
Brief poetry song
blending five and seven sounds
a piece of music
5
Silence filling ears
Peace, tranquiity affects
lost by tinnitus.

Learning How To Write a Haiku
Recently, I challenged myself through a 20 word limit poetry contest to write a Haiku, which generally I have never liked.
I did some reading on how to write a haiku, and then posted the following for the contest:
Breath comes richly
fills my lung, my soul with life
till all is gone
Further reading, and comments from contest moderator led me to make the following changes:
Breath comes in richly
fills lungs, my soul with life, till
death comes in boldly
I like this one. And, it follows the "rules" of Haiku writing. Check out the links below and post one of your own here.
Have fun.
